A family from our church finds and distributes needed items to the homeless in Dayton. Jackets are at the top of the list. Gloves, heavy socks, thermals, hats and any other winter clothing items you are not using will be given to the homeless.
This week a man asked for a jacket because his jacket was too light for the weather. One of our volunteers gave him the jacket off his back. A second man came up asking for a jacket but there were no more. The man who received a jacket now took the jacket off his back to give to the second man because even though the jacket he had was too light it was better than nothing, and nothing is what the second man had. It was the most beautiful and awful thing to see. They need our help. Your donated items go from your closet directly to the homeless.
