All Ages

Millions of Americans—including families in our Dayton community—could temporarily lose access to essential food assistance.

Because of the ongoing federal government shutdown that began October 1, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) may be unable to issue benefits on November 1 unless funding is restored. As followers of Jesus, this is our opportunity to live and love like Him in the way we care for our neighbors (Matthew 25:35-40).

Ways to help:

🥫 1. Donate food

Bring non-perishable items to church on November 1 and 8, especially these items:

  1. Boxes of cereal
  2. Mac n cheese
  3. Breakfast bars
  4. Meat sticks
  5. Canned fruits and vegetables
  6. Peanut butter Crackers
  7. Pasta Sauce

💸 2. Give financially to GNH

Our local ministry partner, The Good Neighbor House (GNH), is preparing for a rise in need. Monetary gifts allow them to order things at cost and in bulk quantities. You can give directly to them at this link: https://goodneighborhouse-bloom.kindful.com/ and select “food pantry” as the initiative you’re donating for.

🫶 3. Support our members

You may also give to our Benevolence Fund, which supports members in crisis. Donate Here

🙏 4. Volunteer or pray

Serve at Good Neighbor House (We are going there for Service Sabbath on November 1) or join us in prayer for those facing uncertainty and for our leaders to find swift resolution. We invite you to join us for our Night of Prayer on November 7.

💻 If you need help...

If you or any church member is affected by the shutdown or financial hardship, please contact the church office or pastoral team. All requests are confidential.
