Join us in the Sanctuary for a stirring evening with organist, performer, and improviser Dr. Devon Howard! This benefit concert–supporting the restoration and care of the Kettering Church pipe organ–is entitled “Triptych for Pipe Organ,” featuring four contrasting musical “triptychs.” We'll journey from the serene minimalism of Toon Hagen to the brilliance of Bach’s Trio Sonata No. 6, followed by impressionistic colors from Debussy’s Children’s Corner, and concluding with vibrant American works by Emma Lou Diemer, Connor Chee, and Ian Farrington.
Dr. Howard is a dynamic musician with international training and performance experience. A former Fulbright Scholar in The Netherlands, he completed a Doctor of Musical Arts at Arizona State University and currently serves as Director of Worship Ministries at the Collegedale Church in Tennessee. Known for his passion for improvisation and historically informed performance, he brings artistry, scholarship, and creativity to every program.
